Vietnam Power Shift Campaign

Together with Australia and Sweden, Vietnam was 1 of the 3 first countries representing 3 continents of the world to launch National Power Shift – Phase II of the Global Power Shift. After Phase I – the main week of Global Power Shift took place in Istanbul (Turkey) in June 2013, – 500 climate leaders from 135 countries returned to their home countries to launch national Power Shift. Vietnam Power Shift got media sponsorship from Tuoi Tre, VTV6, and VOH.

  • National workshop for young leaders working on climate change “I AM A CLIMATE CITIZEN”: 60 young leaders from 20 provinces gathered in Ho Chi Minh City for 4 days from 01 – 04.10.2013 to share stories, learn skills, and sharpen strategies. These leaders then returned to their home provinces to spark a wave of activities and campaigns as well as to mobilize people to act for climate action.
  • National Day of Action: The main event of Vietnam Power Shift happened on 27.10.2013 in HCMC with many exciting and inspiring activities about climate and clean energy including a Solar Party, Action Corner, Film Festival about Climate Change, Coal Exhibition and Coal Art Installations demonstrating bad impacts of coal on human health and environment.
  • Video Clip of Global Power Shift Song – International Version the theme song of the Global Power Shift campaign will be recorded by representatives of the 350.org network in dozens of countries. (The song was composed by Musician Thanh Bui and performed in the main week of Global Power Shift in Istanbul in June 2013, and received great compliments from 350.org representatives all over the world.)
